Lucid dreaming

Awake inside the dream

A verified state rather than a claim. The eye-signalling experiments settled that in 1980. These guides cover the techniques with evidence behind them, and are honest about the ones without.

Sleep comes first

The real risk here is not exotic. It is lost sleep. Waking yourself at 4am several nights a week to chase lucidity is a bad trade if it leaves you short, and sleep deprivation has documented effects on mood, judgement, immune function and long-term health.

The tracker records whether an attempt disrupted your sleep as well as whether it worked, so you can see both numbers together. A tracker that only counted successes would be no use for the decision that actually matters.
