How it works

A dream platform that shows its working

Five steps, and one rule underneath all of them: never claim more than the evidence supports.

  1. 01Search what you dreamedThe box on the homepage searches a researched database of 82 records and their scenario pages. It looks things up; it does not compose an answer. When there is no page for what you dreamed, it tells you that instead of inventing one.Browse the database
  2. 02Read a page that shows its workingEvery entry separates common associations, psychological perspectives, cultural belief and sleep science, each labelled with what kind of claim it is. Sources are listed at the foot with a note saying what each one is cited for. What the labels mean
  3. 03Record it before it fadesDream memory decays within seconds of waking, so the journal is built around getting it down fast. The draft saves to your device as you type, before any network call. 30 entries a month free, private by default. The dream journal
  4. 04Tag what was in itAs you write, the journal suggests records from the database. It suggests; you decide. Nothing is ever linked without you, and those links are what everything downstream is computed from.
  5. 05Come back and see the patternAfter a couple of months the dashboard can tell you which symbols recur, how your recall tracks against how long you slept, and whether a nightmare is getting more or less frequent. All arithmetic over your own entries. No model, and nothing reported below the sample size it needs. The pattern dashboard

The two archives

Where this gets genuinely unusual

The Nocturnal Bestiary and the Luminous Archive document figures unrelated people report meeting in their sleep, held to an evidence standard, with the weak cases published as weak.

Common questions

Straight answers, including the unwelcome ones.

  • No. There is no model anywhere on this site. Every meaning and scenario page is written and reviewed; every number on the pattern dashboard is arithmetic over your own tagged entries. That is the central design decision, not a cost saving. An interpreter that answers everything instantly is an interpreter that never needed to know anything.

  • There is no evidence that it can, and no mechanism by which it could. Apparent hits are explained by base rates and selective memory: you remember the dream that seemed to match and forget the thousands that did not. Several pages on this site exist specifically to say this, because "dreaming of a funeral means someone will die" causes real fear.

  • It tells you about you, not about them. It is not evidence of what they are thinking, feeling or doing, and it is not a signal that they were thinking of you. Old relationships in particular leave dense memory that keeps being reprocessed for years. A dream about an ex is closer to a filing artefact than to a message.

  • Yes. Every entry is private by default and stays that way unless you explicitly share one. Journal pages are noindex and require your session. You can export everything as PDF, JSON or CSV on any plan, and you can delete it permanently.

  • No. Nothing on the site is paid at the moment. The journal has no monthly cap and the pattern dashboard, sleep correlations and export tools are open to everyone. If a subscription is added later it would cover analysis only: the database, both archives, all sleep science and all safety information are free permanently.

  • Because each one is written. It would be trivial to generate ten thousand pages by combining every symbol with every colour and emotion, and the result would be a content farm that says nothing. Scenario pages exist only where there is a genuinely distinct interpretation to give.

Dream interpretation is subjective. Nothing here is a diagnosis, a prediction, or medical advice.
