Dreaming about being chased by something you cannot see
What does it mean to be chased by something invisible in a dream?
The commonest form, and the one that most supports the "the pursuit is the content" reading. Dreamers report certainty about the threat with no information about it whatsoever.
That certainty-without-evidence is a general feature of dreaming rather than anything specific to chase dreams: the dream supplies the knowledge directly rather than through the scene.
Where this reads well
Little, though dreamers who eventually see the pursuer often report it being far less frightening than the not-seeing was.
Where it is harder
Sustained dread without an object, which maps closely onto free-floating anxiety.
Worth asking yourself
How did I know it was there? Did I ever see it?
Dream interpretation is subjective. Nothing here is a diagnosis, a prediction, or medical advice.
