• Hands, then the gardenChecked my hands out of habit and there were six fingers on the left one, which is when I knew. I went outside rather than trying anything clever, and stood in a garden that was not mine while the light kept changing. Then up over the fence, badly, the way I always go up. Four minutes maybe. Longest I have held one this year.

• A lucid dream I wasted arguing with a strangerKnew I was dreaming within about ten seconds and then spent the whole thing trying to convince a man at a bus stop that he was not real. He was extremely patient about it. Woke up annoyed with myself.

• Letting myself fall on purposeWent off the edge of a multi-storey deliberately, to find out whether the jolt would wake me. It did not. I landed, nothing happened, and the dream carried on in a car park. I have wanted to try that for about two years.
