Hands, then the garden

3 August 2026

Checked my hands out of habit and there were six fingers on the left one, which is when I knew. I went outside rather than trying anything clever, and stood in a garden that was not mine while the light kept changing. Then up over the fence, badly, the way I always go up. Four minutes maybe. Longest I have held one this year.

They would like: Personal thoughts

What the dream brought up for you. Not what it means for them.

Responses

  • BeaPersonal thoughts

The light changing is the detail I would keep hold of. Mine do that too and it is the thing that most convinces me I am not simply remembering being awake.

Before you respond

  • No diagnosing. Not their mental health, not their relationship, not their body.
  • No certainty. "This might connect to…" rather than "this means…"
  • Nothing that predicts a death, an illness or a disaster. Ever.
  • No encouraging paranoia about someone in the dreamer's life.
  • Say which tradition you are drawing on, if you are drawing on one.
  • Content warnings on anything graphic.
  • Personal belief is welcome. Personal belief presented as established fact is not.

Dream interpretation is subjective. Nothing here is a diagnosis, a prediction, or medical advice.
