Cattle produce two entirely separate report types depending on one variable: whether it is a herd or a bull. The herd is calm and largely without narrative; the bull is one of the more reliably frightening animals in the database.

Herd reports are quiet. A field, animals at a distance or nearby, and very little happening. Dreamers frequently describe them as restful and struggle to say what the dream was about.
Bull reports are the opposite: enclosure, being in a field with no gate, and the specific problem of moving without attracting attention. Pursuit reports follow the standard chase pattern.

The bull is genuinely frightening and produces a chase report with an unusual element: dreamers describe trying not to be noticed, which most pursuit dreams do not contain.
Starved or dying cattle appear rarely and are reported with real distress, usually by dreamers who have some connection to farming.
Psychological perspectives
The split on one variable is the useful observation. Same animal, same setting, and the presence of a bull reorganises the entire report, which suggests dreams are tracking threat rather than species.
Continuity is strong for dreamers with rural backgrounds and weak for everybody else, and the reports differ accordingly.
The not-being-noticed structure is worth flagging. It is rare in pursuit dreams and is closer to how a person would actually behave in the situation.
Cultural and historical
The seven fat and seven lean cattle of the Joseph narrative is one of the most widely known dream interpretations in the world, and it is doing real work in how some dreamers frame these dreams.
The cow is sacred in Hindu tradition, which is a living religious relationship rather than a symbol, and it produces an entirely different reading.
Bull cults and bull imagery run through Mediterranean and Near Eastern material extensively, and the bull as a specific force appears across a great many of them.
