Dreaming about legs that will not move
Why do your legs feel heavy in dreams?
Wading, dragging, moving through something thick. This is the lower-body counterpart to the silent scream and comes from the same place, commands issued into a paralysed body.
Reports frequently pair it with a pursuit, which makes it one half of the classic chase dream rather than a separate event. But it also occurs on its own, with nothing chasing, and that version is worth recording separately.
The sensation is often described as more specific than "slow": people say heavy, sticky, or as though the ground has changed.
Where this reads well
Recognising this as the same mechanism as the silent scream makes both easier to sit with.
Where it is harder
It compounds badly with a pursuit. If yours always comes with something chasing, the chase entry is the better page.
Worth asking yourself
Was anything chasing me? What did the ground feel like?
Dream interpretation is subjective. Nothing here is a diagnosis, a prediction, or medical advice.
