Dreaming about a clock while you are running late
Why does the time keep changing when I am late in a dream?
The clock is the object dreamers reach for and it is the one thing that cannot help.
Text and numbers are the two things dreaming renders worst, and a time is both. Dreamers describe checking, looking away and getting a different answer, and describe the uncertainty as worse than the lateness.
That makes it an excellent reality check arriving at a moment of genuine attention. Somebody urgently checking a clock is already doing the test: look, look away, look back.
The station entry finds the same with departure boards, and the being-early entry finds dreamers checking the time there too. The information a dream cannot produce is exactly the information these dreams are built around needing.
Where this reads well
A dependable lucidity cue, and it arrives when the dreamer has a real reason to look twice.
Where it is harder
The uncertainty compounds the urgency, and neither resolves.
Worth asking yourself
Did the time change? Did I check twice? Was I ever sure what time it was?
Dream interpretation is subjective. Nothing here is a diagnosis, a prediction, or medical advice.
