Flying

Dreaming about flying and then falling

What does it mean when flying turns into falling?

The turn is the content. Flight that becomes a fall is reported often enough to be its own scenario rather than a variation on either.

What people describe is usually not a crash but a loss of the knack: the certainty that made flying work stops being available, often at the moment they think about how they are doing it. Several reports describe doubt arriving first and the descent following.

Whether that is worth reading as anything depends entirely on your own history. What is worth doing is recording it as one dream rather than as two.

Where this reads well

Many reports include recovering, regaining height after the drop starts. If yours did, that is part of the dream too.

Where it is harder

If the fall dominates the memory, the falling entry may be the more useful page.

Worth asking yourself

What changed just before I started to drop? Was I thinking about how I was flying?

Dream interpretation is subjective. Nothing here is a diagnosis, a prediction, or medical advice.
