Dreaming about a place with the right name and wrong layout
What does it mean to dream a place you know is laid out wrongly?
A second form and the most commonly reported of the three: the place is definitely itself, and the rooms are in the wrong order.
The childhood-home entry covers this in detail, and the getting-lost entry describes the same failure applied to streets. Recognition survives; geometry does not.
Dreams do not hold a plan and check new space against it. A room is produced when somebody walks into it, and there is nothing requiring the version produced to match either the real building or the version produced ten minutes earlier.
Dreamers frequently report the same building distorting the same way repeatedly, which is worth recording because it means something is being reused.

Trackable across a journal, and dreamers who log it often find a small set of recurring buildings.
Where it is harder
The dismay is the hard-to-describe kind that the familiar-place reports produce throughout.
