What does it mean to dream about water with no visible bottom?

Dreams do not build what is not being looked at. There is no bottom below the dreamer, because nothing generated one, and the darkness is the absence rather than a depth. The same holds for the sea beyond the horizon, the space behind a closed door and the rest of a building the dreamer is not in.
That is why the feeling is so consistent across otherwise unrelated dreamers, and why almost nobody reports finding out. The refusing entry finds that dreamers very rarely dive, look or check anything, so the not-knowing persists by default.
