Dreaming where the point of view changes
Why did my dream switch from being me to watching me?
The more interesting version and the one dreamers mention most often once asked.
They are inside the dream, then observing it, with no transition and no objection. The switch is only noticed on waking, and dreamers frequently cannot say where in the dream it happened.
It shows something the rest of this database keeps circling. A dream is not a continuous recording made from a fixed position. It is assembled around whatever has attention, and the vantage point is one more thing that gets assembled rather than a fact that persists.
Where the switch coincides with something distressing, that is worth logging, because the next scenario describes a version of exactly that.
Where this reads well
One of the clearest demonstrations available of how dreams are put together, and it costs nothing to notice.
Where it is harder
None reported beyond the puzzlement, which is usually mild.
Worth asking yourself
When did it switch? Was anything happening at that moment? Did I notice at the time or afterwards?
Dream interpretation is subjective. Nothing here is a diagnosis, a prediction, or medical advice.
