Someone alive appearing dead

Dreaming about the funeral of somebody who is alive

What does it mean to dream about attending a living person's funeral?

A distinct report and, in the accounts, a stranger experience than the first.

The dreamer is at the service. The grief is complete and behaving normally, everybody else is behaving normally, and the person is alive. Dreamers describe the ordinariness of the room as the part that disturbs them.

Read it with the funeral entry rather than as a fact about the living person. Funerals recur in dreams as a setting for endings of every kind, and dreamers commonly report them around a departure, a job ending or somebody moving away, which is a personal association rather than a rule.

Rehearsal is worth naming without overclaiming. Some dreamers describe these around a real illness and find them useful afterwards, and there is no established finding behind that, only a repeated report.

Where this reads well

Several dreamers describe waking with a strong wish to contact the person, and describe acting on it as the best part of the whole thing.

Where it is harder

The grief is the same grief, and it does not switch off on waking simply because nobody has died.

Worth asking yourself

Whose funeral was it? Was anybody behaving oddly? Is something ending at the moment?

Dream interpretation is subjective. Nothing here is a diagnosis, a prediction, or medical advice.
