Dreaming that you have no shadow
What does it mean to dream you cast no shadow?
Reported, and described as unsettling out of all proportion to what is actually missing.
Nothing happens. There is simply no shadow where one should be. Dreamers describe checking, moving into better light, and finding the absence persists.
That disproportionate reaction is a pattern in itself, and it is shared with the empty chair, the empty playground and the silent crowd. An absence where something is expected produces more unease than a threat does, and none of those reports contain anything hostile.
The dream did not remove the shadow. It never generated one, because nothing required it until the dreamer looked, which is the ordinary way dreams handle everything nobody is attending to.
