Road

Dreaming a road you know does not go where it should

What does it mean to dream a familiar route is wrong?

The version that belongs with the getting-lost material, and dreamers describe it in exactly the same terms.

The road is one they know. It connects wrongly, arrives somewhere else, or no longer reaches the place it has always reached. Everything is recognisable and none of it is usable.

The feeling is not fear. Dreamers describe something closer to the ground shifting under an assumption, and they usually report it badly because there is no ordinary word for it.

Dreams do not hold a consistent map. A route is reassembled each time attention returns to it, and familiarity survives that process while geometry does not.

Where this reads well

Dreamers who log it often find the same few routes distorting repeatedly, which makes it trackable.

Where it is harder

The dismay is hard to convey and dreamers frequently feel they have failed to describe it.

Worth asking yourself

Which road was it? Where did it go instead? Have I dreamt it wrong before?

Dream interpretation is subjective. Nothing here is a diagnosis, a prediction, or medical advice.
