Dreaming about police when you have done nothing
Why do I feel guilty when police appear in a dream?
The version with no event in it, and the one dreamers find hardest to justify afterwards.
Police are simply present. Nobody approaches the dreamer, nothing is said, no accusation is made, and the guilt arrives the moment they are seen. Dreamers describe wanting to leave, arranging their face, becoming conscious of their hands.
That is the reportable finding: the guilt precedes any accusation, and no accusation is ever supplied. It is the same arrangement the arrest reports describe, with the arrest removed, which makes it the cleaner demonstration of the two. The dream produces the feeling first and never gets round to the reason.
Where an actual arrest, questioning or charge is involved, the arrest entry covers that properly. This is the version where nothing happens at all.
Where this reads well
Dreamers who log both this and the arrest version usually notice the shared shape quickly, and report it changing how much weight they give the guilt.
Where it is harder
The wanting-to-hide is uncomfortable precisely because there is nothing to hide, and dreamers often take it as evidence about themselves.
Worth asking yourself
Did anybody approach me? Was anything said? When exactly did the guilt start?
Dream interpretation is subjective. Nothing here is a diagnosis, a prediction, or medical advice.
