Why do I dream about my old workplace?
The most distinctive of the work dreams, and dreamers describe the same thing: they are back, and it is entirely normal that they are there.
No explanation. No sense of having returned. Frequently a job left a decade or more ago, sometimes one they had no strong feelings about.
Old workplaces recur far out of proportion to how much anybody thinks about them, exactly as old schools, old kitchens and old teachers do. Whatever governs what dreams reuse, recency is plainly not it.
These are reported with mild disorientation on waking rather than distress, and the old-boss scenario describes the same pattern arriving as a person rather than a place.
Where this reads well
Low-distress and easy to log, which makes it one of the better records for spotting the reuse pattern.
Where it is harder
Almost none. Dreamers report puzzlement more than anything.

Which job? How long ago? Did I question being there?
