Dreaming about being lonely in a crowd
What does it mean to dream you are alone among people?

People are present, visible and close, and unreachable. Dreamers report speaking and getting nothing, or being looked through, or a conversation carrying on around them.
That is worse than emptiness in the reports, and it is the same content the party-where-nobody-speaks-to-you scenario describes. Presence without reach is the most reliably painful configuration in this part of the database.
The speech question from the being-ignored entry applies: dreamers frequently cannot say whether they actually made a sound, which puts a share of these with the voice failures rather than with anything social.
