Dreaming about a lift that does not stop
What does it mean to dream about a lift that will not stop at your floor?
The commonest version. The lift passes the floor, or keeps climbing, or the buttons do nothing, and the dreamer presses them repeatedly to no effect.
The futile intervention is the reportable feature rather than the movement. Dreamers describe pressing harder, pressing everything, and looking for an override, and describe none of it registering. That behaviour is what links these reports to the train-that-does-not-stop material and to the being-unable-to-speak-or-move reports.
Read it as a control dream rather than a transport dream. What is being reported is a mechanism that has stopped answering, and the destination is almost never the part dreamers remember.
