Cultural and historical
The battlefield association runs through Norse and Celtic material substantially, with ravens attached to specific figures, and it is old and detailed.
Ravens appear as creator and trickster figures across a number of Indigenous North American and Siberian traditions, with elaborate and specific content that has nothing to do with the European omen reading.
