What does it mean to dream you cannot defend yourself?
The speech failure again, arriving at the worst possible moment, which is where it usually arrives.
Dreamers describe having the defence and being unable to deliver it. Words that will not come, a voice with no volume, or a sentence that comes out as something else.
There is nothing special about the courtroom here. This is the same mechanism as the shout with no sound and the interview that goes blank: during dreaming sleep the machinery of speech is switched off, and the intention returns nothing.
Logging it beside the other speech failures is what makes it stop looking like a statement about the dreamer's ability to stand up for themselves.

The mechanical account lands well, and dreamers usually recognise the wider family in their own reports.
Where it is harder
Of all the places for the voice to fail, this is the one dreamers take most personally.
