Dreaming you know somebody despite the wrong face
Why did I know who it was when they did not look like themselves?
A second form: the dreamer knows exactly who somebody is while looking at a face that is not theirs, and does not object.
They knew because dreams supply identity separately from appearance. Knowing who somebody is arrives as a fact attached to them rather than as a conclusion drawn from looking, which is why it survives the face being wrong.
The face entry describes the same machinery, the partner entry finds it wearing somebody else's features, and the stranger entry finds facts about a person the dream never showed.
