What does it mean to dream a city is deserted?
A distinct and frequently reported version: no traffic, no people, everything intact, and dreamers describe it as eerie rather than frightening.
That is the absence pattern at its largest scale. The loneliness entry sets out the rule: emptiness in a place built for people is what produces the feeling, not being alone. A deserted beach is peace; a deserted city is this.
Everything intact is the detail that does the work. Ruins would explain themselves. An undamaged city with nobody in it contradicts what the dreamer knows without offering any account.
Crowded cities produce the opposite problem, and being carried by a crowd belongs with the helplessness material.
