Dreaming about chasing somebody without knowing who
Why am I chasing someone I do not recognise in a dream?
Frequently reported: the person ahead is unidentified, and the dreamer knows they must catch them without knowing why.
Both halves of that are ordinary construction. A figure seen only from behind never needed a face, so none was made. And the imperative arrives as a fact rather than as a conclusion, which is the unearned certainty this database describes throughout.
Dreamers occasionally report the person turning, and the reports usually end there. What is behind them is the same problem the mask-coming-off scenario describes: a face demanded at the moment of maximum attention is what dreams are least able to supply.
The urgency without a reason is worth logging. It is the same shape as the arrest with no charge.
Where this reads well
Two well-described patterns in one dream, which makes it a good one to record carefully.
Where it is harder
The pointlessness is what dreamers report on waking, and it is dissatisfying rather than distressing.
Worth asking yourself
Did I know why? Did they ever turn round? Could I describe them at all?
Dream interpretation is subjective. Nothing here is a diagnosis, a prediction, or medical advice.
