Dreaming about a castle where nothing is defended
Why is nothing happening in my castle dream?
Defence appears rarely, which is worth noting given what a castle is for.
Dreamers do not report sieges, attacks or being besieged. They report exploring. That is a striking absence, because the one function the building has is the one thing the dreams leave out.
It suggests the image arrives as architecture rather than as a story. Castles are almost entirely supplied by fiction for most dreamers, and what has been absorbed is the look of the place rather than its purpose.
Which makes this a useful case: an image with no personal experience behind it at all, showing exactly what a dream does with borrowed material. It keeps the surfaces and drops the meaning.
Where this reads well
An unusually clear view of how inherited imagery is used, and testable against other fiction-supplied settings.
Where it is harder
None.
Worth asking yourself
Was anything being defended? What was I doing there? Where do I know castles from?
Dream interpretation is subjective. Nothing here is a diagnosis, a prediction, or medical advice.
