Bear

Dreaming about an impossibly large bear

Why was the bear in my dream so big?

Size is mentioned unprompted with unusual regularity in these reports, and dreamers frequently correct themselves upward while describing it.

Bears in dreams are bigger than bears. That is worth recording as an observation about dreaming rather than about bears: scale is one of the properties dreams hold least reliably, exactly as the size-changes entry describes, and an animal already at the edge of a person's sense of large is a good place for it to slip.

The correcting-upward detail is the interesting half. It suggests the size was not fixed when first seen and grew under description, which is what generation-on-demand looks like from the inside.

Nothing here is about the magnitude of a problem. The dream is not measuring anything.

Where this reads well

A clean instance of unstable scale, and easy to notice once you know dreamers do it.

Where it is harder

None beyond the fright of the size itself.

Worth asking yourself

How big did I say it was? Did that change as I described it? Was I close enough to judge?

Dream interpretation is subjective. Nothing here is a diagnosis, a prediction, or medical advice.
