Dreaming about a secret you cannot name
What does it mean to dream you are keeping a secret?
One of the purest examples of the pattern this database keeps finding: the weight is generated and the content is not.
The dreamer knows something of enormous importance, knows it must not be said, and cannot state it even to themselves. The not-knowing does not reduce the burden at all, which is the detail that gives the mechanism away.
It is the same structure as guilt with no offence, an arrest with no charge, and the certainty that something has been forgotten. In each, the feeling is complete and the thing that would justify it was never produced.
Reading those four together is more convincing than any one of them. The same missing piece turns up in four unrelated settings.
Where this reads well
Dreamers frequently assume the blank means they are repressing something real, and are relieved to learn it is the standard form.
Where it is harder
The burden is genuinely heavy and can persist for an hour after waking.
