Being pursued and never looking back
Why do you never turn around in a chase dream?
A substantial share of pursuit accounts contain no description of the pursuer at all, for the simple reason that the dreamer never looked.
This is the archive's most awkward evidence problem, and it should be said openly: the most commonly reported dream pursuer is one nobody has described. What is being documented in those cases is a pursuit and a certainty, not a figure.
Where dreamers do turn, the accounts diverge sharply, which is itself informative, and is part of why this entry is rated on the pattern of pursuit rather than on appearance.
What the reports agree on
The refusal to look is itself a consistent feature across accounts, and an unusual one. It is reported as impossible rather than as a choice.
Where they differ, and what to be careful of
An undescribed pursuer cannot corroborate anything. These reports establish that the experience is common, not that any particular figure is.
Worth recording if this was yours
Did I try to look? What made it impossible: fear, or something in the dream?
Dream interpretation is subjective. Nothing here is a diagnosis, a prediction, or medical advice.
