A pursuer that keeps pace no matter how fast you run
Why can you never outrun what is chasing you?
The pursuer does not run. Reports describe it walking, gliding, or simply being closer each time, and being no further away regardless of the dreamer's effort.
That structure is the defining feature of this entry, more than any physical description. It combines with the motor phenomena of REM: the dreamer's legs are heavy or slow, and the gap does not change.
Reports very rarely include capture. What is documented is a pursuit that neither resolves nor ends, which is a different thing from a threat.
What the reports agree on
The absence of capture across almost all accounts is a real pattern and worth knowing before the next one.
Where they differ, and what to be careful of
The unwinnable quality is what makes these dreams exhausting. People often wake tired rather than frightened.
Worth recording if this was yours
How was it moving? Did the distance ever actually change?
Dream interpretation is subjective. Nothing here is a diagnosis, a prediction, or medical advice.
