Dreaming about a twin or double
Two of somebody is reported, accepted at the time, and found strange only on waking. It is distinct from the doppelganger, which is specifically seeing yourself, and it produces nothing like the same unease.

Duplication is the reported feature and dreamers describe it flatly: there were two of her, and that was fine.
That acceptance is the striking part, because a duplicate person is a much larger inconsistency than most of the things dreams are checked for.
Actual twins are reported by people who know some, which is ordinary continuity, and those reports carry nothing distinctive.
Seeing two of yourself is a different matter and belongs with the doppelganger material in the Bestiary, where the reports are considerably more disturbing.

Psychological perspectives
Nothing tracks the number of instances of a person, in the same way nothing tracks their face or the layout of a house, so a duplicate requires no explanation and generates no conflict.
What this entry adds is a sense of scale: the inconsistencies dreams tolerate are much larger than most people assume, which is why reality checks target specific reliable failures rather than relying on general alertness.
The doppelganger reports are unsettling for a different reason, which is the self rather than the duplication.
Cultural and historical
Twins carry specific and substantial significance in a number of traditions, sometimes as auspicious and sometimes as requiring particular observance, and those readings are located rather than universal.
The double as an omen is a separate European tradition and belongs with the doppelganger material.
