Dreaming about thorns
One of the few dream images that reliably produces pain, which is rare enough to be the most interesting thing about it. Dreams under-report pain badly, and thorns are an exception worth noting.

Pain is reported far less often in dreams than injury imagery, and this database says so repeatedly. Thorns are an exception, and the entry flags it as an untested observation rather than a finding.
One plausible reading is that a thorn produces a sensation dreams can approximate, a small sharp point, where a broken bone requires something they cannot generate.
The struggle-makes-it-worse structure is unusual and does not appear elsewhere in the database, which is why the entry exists.

Thorns appear in a great many traditions as an image of obstruction and of suffering, and in Christianity a specific crown of thorns carries very heavy and particular weight.
