Dreaming about your teeth falling out
What does it mean when your teeth fall out in a dream?
The core version. Teeth loosen and come away, usually without pain, usually more than one, and usually while the dreamer is trying to stop it or hide it.
Two details are worth capturing before they fade: whether there was pain (most report none, and its presence is a real departure), and whether anyone saw. The dream's distress is social far more often than it is physical.
Check your jaw first. See the science section on this entry. The correlation with waking dental irritation is stronger than the correlation with any of the meanings usually attached.
Where this reads well
A common near-lucidity trigger. The impossibility is unusually noticeable, which makes it one of the best available personal dream signs.
Where it is harder
Where it recurs alongside a period of feeling judged or scrutinised, dreamers commonly connect the two, and that connection, made by the dreamer about their own life, is worth more than any general rule.
Worth asking yourself
Was my jaw tight when I woke? Was anyone watching? Did I try to put them back?
Dream interpretation is subjective. Nothing here is a diagnosis, a prediction, or medical advice.
