Dreaming about swimming where you cannot see the bottom
Why does swimming over deep water feel so different?
Water clarity and depth carry the emotional tone, exactly as the water entry describes, and swimming in clear shallow water reads very differently from swimming over depth.
Nothing else changes. The dreamer is still moving easily, still in control, still breathing. Only what is underneath them differs, and the report changes completely.
That is the same finding the shark entry reaches from the other direction: those reports turn out to be about the water rather than the animal, because the fin is almost always distant and the surface is what dreamers describe.
So depth is doing the work in both records, and the creature in one of them is close to incidental.
Breathing underwater is a separate matter and the drowning entry covers it, where the discovery is reported as calm rather than alarming.
Where this reads well
A clean controlled comparison, since only one variable changes between the two versions.
Where it is harder
Awareness of what is below is durable, and dreamers report it without ever seeing anything.
Worth asking yourself
Could I see the bottom? Did anything change except the depth? Was I still at ease?
Dream interpretation is subjective. Nothing here is a diagnosis, a prediction, or medical advice.
