Dreaming you are awake during surgery
What does it mean to dream you are conscious during an operation?
The characteristic report, and it combines two things this database usually sees separately: immobility and inaudibility.
The dreamer is aware, cannot move, and cannot tell anybody. Pain is rarely reported, in line with every injury report here.
That combination is close enough to sleep paralysis to be worth checking first. If it happened at the edge of sleep, in your own room, with real immobility, the paralysis material explains it fully and this reading does not apply.
Where it is a dream proper, it is a control dream. The surgical setting supplies the most complete loss of control available, which is why dreams reach for it, and dreamers who are facing a real procedure report these before it reliably.
