Dreaming about a giant spider
What does it mean to dream about a huge spider?
Scale is doing the work. A spider the size of a hand and a spider the size of a car are not the same dream, and the reports differ accordingly. The large version is described far more often as awe or paralysis than as ordinary disgust.
Dreams routinely get scale wrong. Size is one of the least stable properties in dream construction, and something being impossibly large is a common trigger for noticing you are dreaming.
The web tends to matter as much as the spider in these reports. Whether you were caught in it is worth recording.

Where it is harder
Overwhelming size can tip this from unpleasant into genuinely frightening. That reaction is proportionate, not excessive.
