Silence

Dreaming about a silent scene that should be loud

What does it mean to dream something is silent when it should not be?

Silence is only noticed when it contradicts something visible, and that is the whole of this record.

A crowd with no noise. A street with no traffic sound. A person speaking with nothing coming out. Dreamers report the violation, never the ordinary quiet.

Most dreams are far quieter than dreamers realise, because dreams generate sound sparingly and nobody notices an absence that nothing contradicts. It takes a visible cause with no audible effect for the silence to become content.

That makes it a good reality check, and an under-used one: it requires nothing but noticing that a loud thing is not making a sound.

Where this reads well

A genuinely useful dream sign, and one that requires no deliberate test at all.

Where it is harder

The unease is specific and hard to name, which dreamers frequently find frustrating to describe.

Worth asking yourself

What should have been making a noise? Did I notice at the time? Was anything audible?

Dream interpretation is subjective. Nothing here is a diagnosis, a prediction, or medical advice.
