Dreaming about wearing the wrong shoes
What does it mean to dream your shoes are wrong?
The second theme and unusually specific in the reports: shoes that do not match, that are the wrong size, that belong to somebody else, or that are wrong for where the dreamer is going.
Dreamers describe noticing partway through, in company, and being unable to do anything about it. That places these with the exposure material rather than with the searching version above.
The mismatched pair is the most reported single detail, which is a strange thing for so many unrelated dreamers to produce and is worth recording as a curiosity rather than explained away.
Being barefoot where that is unacceptable is a separate report, described in the same terms as the naked dreams and usually milder.

Dreamers frequently report nobody in the dream caring, which is the same reassuring finding the naked dreams produce.
Where it is harder
The self-consciousness is disproportionate and persists into waking more than the searching version does.

What was wrong with them? Did anybody notice? Where was I going?
