Dreaming about being tangled in rope
What does it mean to dream about being tangled up?
Distinct from being bound, and dreamers describe the difference clearly: nobody did this. The rope, line, wire or netting has wrapped itself without an agent, and the more the dreamer works at it the worse it gets.
The absence of anybody responsible is the feature. Restraint reports have a captor, at least implicitly. These have only the situation, which dreamers often say makes them harder to shake off.
It sits with the other accumulating-obstacle dreams, alongside the being-late material, where effort makes no progress and the difficulty compounds rather than resolves.

Some dreamers report stopping and simply waiting, and describe it as unexpectedly effective inside the dream.
Where it is harder
The compounding is the durable part: every attempt makes it worse, which is exactly what the being-late reports describe.
