Dreaming about a menu you cannot make out
Why can I never read a menu in a dream?
The menu is the most reported object in this record and it is almost never readable.
Dreamers describe holding one, looking at it, and being unable to make out anything, or finding it different on a second look.
A restaurant combines two things dreams handle badly: text that will not resolve, and food that has no taste. So the object that would resolve the situation cannot be produced, and the thing it promises could not be delivered anyway.
That makes a menu an excellent reality check. It is text, held close, consulted repeatedly, which is exactly the test: look, look away, look back.
Where this reads well
A strong dream sign arriving in an object the dreamer is already studying.
Where it is harder
Reported as frustrating, and it usually prevents the dream progressing.
Worth asking yourself
Did it change? Could I read anything? Did I order?
Dream interpretation is subjective. Nothing here is a diagnosis, a prediction, or medical advice.
