Refusing

Dreaming you go along with something absurd

Why do I never say no in dreams?

The rarity is the finding, and it is one of the strongest patterns in this whole database.

Across every record here, dreamers comply. They follow the wrong bus. They wear the uniform. They answer to the wrong name. They accept the guilt without asking what for. They join the game whose rules they were never told. They are arrested and do not ask the charge.

Almost nobody declines. Evaluation, the faculty that would ask whether any of this is reasonable, appears to be largely offline, and that single fact explains more of the reports in this database than any symbolic reading does.

It is also why the impossible passes unremarked: a talking animal, a house with extra floors, a face that is wrong. Nothing is checking.

Where this reads well

The most useful generalisation on this page. Once you see it, most of your own dream reports read differently.

Where it is harder

None, beyond a certain retrospective embarrassment at what you went along with.

Worth asking yourself

What did I go along with? Did I question anything at all? What would I have done awake?

Dream interpretation is subjective. Nothing here is a diagnosis, a prediction, or medical advice.
