Dreaming about a gathering with people who could not all be there
Why were people from different parts of my life at the same party?
Reported constantly and one of the more enjoyable oddities in this database: people from unrelated parts of a life, in one room, with nobody remarking on it.
Dreamers frequently report people who have died, present and unremarked, alongside people they have not seen in twenty years and people they work with now.
The dream is not solving a seating plan. It reaches for whoever is available when a room needs filling, exactly as the interviewer scenario describes, and nothing in the dream checks whether the combination is possible.
The lack of objection is the finding. Dreamers accept it entirely at the time, and only on waking does the guest list become strange.
Where this reads well
A cheerful example of dream construction, and dreamers usually enjoy noticing it.
Where it is harder
Where somebody present has died, the waking is harder than the dream, and the dead-relative entry covers that.
Worth asking yourself
Who was there? Could they all have been? Did I notice at the time?
Dream interpretation is subjective. Nothing here is a diagnosis, a prediction, or medical advice.
