Waking up laughing
What does it mean to wake up laughing?
Reported, and like waking in tears it represents a real physical state crossing the boundary.
That is a very short list. Almost everything in a dream stops at the edge of it, and the exceptions are crying, laughing, a racing heart and the physical aftermath of a nightmare.
Laughter is under-reported and worth taking seriously. The joy entry describes why: people record what disturbs them, so pleasant dreams go unlogged, and the resulting picture of anybody's dreaming is badly skewed.
If you wake up laughing, write it down. Those are exactly the entries a journal is missing.
Where this reads well
A genuinely good way to start a day, and one of the few dream states with a physical carry-over.
Where it is harder
None.
Worth asking yourself
Was I actually laughing? Did I write it down? What was funny?
Dream interpretation is subjective. Nothing here is a diagnosis, a prediction, or medical advice.
