Does dreaming about a heart attack mean anything?
It is not diagnostic. Dreams do not detect heart disease, and a dream is not a reason to be reassured either.
Both halves of that matter. People arrive here frightened, and people also arrive having decided a dream told them everything was fine. Neither position has anything behind it.
What the reports track is health anxiety, in the same way the illness reports do. The frequency follows the worry rather than anything in the chest, and dreamers who are already anxious about their heart have these considerably more often.
Real symptoms are a medical matter regardless of what any dream did. Chest pain, breathlessness or palpitations while awake need a doctor, and quickly. That sentence is more useful than the rest of this page.
Where this reads well
Being told plainly that it is not a warning usually settles the morning, and the frequency-follows-anxiety pattern is normally recognisable straight away.
Where it is harder
The fear is real and can send somebody into a long day of monitoring their own pulse, which makes health anxiety worse.

Am I already worried about my heart? Do I have a symptom while awake? Have I asked anybody who can check?
