Dreaming about trying to read something
Why can I never read anything in a dream?
Reading is where vision most reliably fails in dreams, with or without glasses, and it is one of the better documented features of dream content.
Text will not hold still. Dreamers describe letters moving, changing between glances, or resolving into something different, and describe the effort of trying to force it.
This is the single most dependable reality check there is. Look at writing, look away, look back. If it has changed, you are asleep. Dreamers learning to recognise dreams are pointed at text before anything else for exactly this reason, and this scenario is the same phenomenon met from the other direction.
Where this reads well
The most practically useful entry in this record. Several dreamers report text being the thing that first told them they were dreaming.
Where it is harder
Where something important must be read the frustration is considerable, and dreamers rarely succeed.
Worth asking yourself
Did the words change? What was I trying to read? Did I get any of it?
Dream interpretation is subjective. Nothing here is a diagnosis, a prediction, or medical advice.
