Does dreaming about someone dying mean they will die?
No. There is no mechanism by which a dream could carry that information and no evidence that it does.
What this dream usually follows is worry. Dream content tracks waking concern, so a period of anxiety about someone's health, or about losing them in a non-literal sense, makes dreams about them more likely. The dream comes after the worry, not before the event.
It can also accompany a relationship changing rather than a person ending: a child growing up, a parent becoming someone you look after, a friendship cooling.
