What does it mean to dream about flowers dying?

The dreamer is not affected by it. Nothing is at stake. The grief is on behalf of something that cannot be said to mind, and it is frequently reported as the strongest feeling in the dream.
That group runs right through this database: the beached whale, the upturned turtle, the injured deer, the fallen tree. A thing in difficulty, a dreamer who cannot help, and an emotional response out of all proportion.
It is one of the more reliable ways dreaming produces feeling, and it needs no threat and no danger to do it.

Sadness with nothing to attach it to is harder to put down than fear.
