Dreaming about fighting somebody you know
What does it mean to dream about fighting a friend or family member?
Distressing, commonly reported, and routinely misread. It is not a verdict on the relationship.
Dream characters are drawn from whoever the dreamer encounters most, and dream aggression is common. Put those two findings together and fights with familiar people are the expected outcome rather than a revelation.
Where there is real unresolved friction the dream may well be using it, and that is worth noticing. It is still not evidence about the other person and not a reason to behave differently towards somebody who has done nothing.

Naming it usually helps. Dreamers frequently carry these quietly and are relieved to find them ordinary.
Where it is harder
The residue is the cost: dreamers sometimes wake cold towards somebody for a reason neither of them can identify.

Would this have angered me awake? Is there anything real between us? How long did the feeling last?
