Dreaming about a crossroads where you cannot choose
What does it mean to dream about standing at a crossroads?
The characteristic report is not choosing, and it cuts directly against the metaphor everybody arrives with.
Dreamers reach a junction and find themselves already on one road, or find the choice made, or cannot tell which way they came from. The decision is somehow unavailable.
That absence of agency is the interesting part. The road entry already notes that forks appear far less often in dream reports than dream dictionaries suggest, and this record explains what turns up instead: not a decision, but the discovery that one has happened.
It is the same already-underway structure the wrong-bus and divorce reports describe. Dreams supply states rather than the moments that produced them.
Where this reads well
A genuinely useful correction to the single most repeated image in the genre.
Where it is harder
Dreamers frequently arrive expecting a dream about a decision and find they cannot locate one, which is disorienting.
Worth asking yourself
Did I choose? Could I tell which way I had come? When did I notice?
Dream interpretation is subjective. Nothing here is a diagnosis, a prediction, or medical advice.
