Dreaming about candles that will not go out
What does it mean to dream you cannot blow out the candles?

Blowing is a breath action, and breath actions fail in dreams for the same reason speech does: during dreaming sleep the machinery is switched off, and the intention returns nothing. The shout with no sound is the same failure.
What makes this version sting is the audience. Everybody is watching, which moves it towards the exposure material as well, and dreamers report embarrassment more than frustration.
Relighting candles are a real novelty item, which some dreamers have encountered, and that is worth ruling out as a source before reading anything into it.
