Being ignored

Dreaming that nobody can see you

What does it mean to dream you are invisible to everybody?

The stronger version. The dreamer is not merely unheard but apparently not present, and people move around them without registering them at all.

Two things recur. The dreamer usually keeps trying, escalating from speaking to shouting to standing in front of somebody, and it changes nothing. And the world carries on being entirely ordinary, which dreamers describe as the disturbing part.

It belongs with the being-dead-and-still-there reports, where the same not-being-seen is the content and the death is incidental. Logged together they make more sense than either does alone.

Deliberate invisibility is a different dream and a much happier one. The being-invisible entry covers that, and the difference is whether the dreamer chose it.

Where this reads well

Where somebody finally notices, the relief is reported vividly, and it is the clue to what the dream was about.

Where it is harder

The escalation is the exhausting part, and dreamers often wake mid-effort.

Worth asking yourself

Did I choose this, or did it happen to me? How hard did I try? Did anybody eventually see me?

Dream interpretation is subjective. Nothing here is a diagnosis, a prediction, or medical advice.
